Starbucks Series: Smoked Butterscotch Latte & Frappuccino, Citrus Green Tea Latte & Frappuccino Review

Smoked Butterscotch Latte

Having tried the Smoked Butterscotch Frappuccino before the latte, I was quite disappointed. The Smoked Butterscotch Latte was creamy and sweet, but tasted nothing like Butterbeer. The drink was essentially sweet, very slightly toffee-tasting milk. The butterscotch taste was pretty covered by the creaminess of the drink.

The aroma of the drink, though, was amazing. As soon as you smell the sweet notes of toffee, you immediately want to drink it. It took some willpower to hold myself back from drinking it before I could take pictures.

Surprisingly, a friend told me that the smokiness reminded her of pork. To each her own, I suppose.

Butterbeer. Yes. It actually tasted like butterbeer. Very sweet butterscotch, very strong flavor, creamy, thick, and it slides down your throat in a pleasing way, no smokey flavor

milky strong butterscotch candy drink, only if you really like buterscotch should you drink it, they could make it into a milky candy bar, nutty butterscotch, sans coffee (creme frap), doesnt need the whipped cream, caramelly nutty

Citrus Green Tea Latte

Tasted like a regular green tea latte. Disappointing.

This was the lemon-y, citrus-y taste I was looking for! To be honest, it kind of covered the taste of the green tea, but it was very refreshing as a drink. The lemon sugar on the top enhances the flavor of the creme frap.

I tried the drink again – with two extra matcha shots. I wouldn’t say the drink is actually lemon-y per say. If it is lemon, it’s more on the lemonade side. There’s only a slight tinge of, well, acidity. There’s the typical very sweet matcha base.

The citrus really gives it an herbal feel, making it more tea than latte.
