Any and all things related to Japan’s northern prefecture, Akita! Mostly cafes and restaurant reviews.
Akita is a charming prefecture located in the north of the island of Honshu, called the Tohoku region. It is famous for the Akita dog, Akita beauties, and rice-growing. Recommended for all nature-lovers and snowboard/skiing fanatics. It snows here for half the year, has the least amount of natural disasters, and is a relatively slow-paced society.
However, a car is an absolute necessity, as public transportation is scarce, and things can be far away, even in the city. Despite the inconvenience, there are a myriad of surprisingly fashionable places. For city-loving me, it’s like a breath of fresh air in this countryside place.
